FTOPS XVII Set To Begin

The FTOPS XVII is scheduled to kick off on August 4th at Full Tilt Poker, with over 25 million in guaranteed prizes. Patterned after the extremely popular World Series of Poker, the first FTOPS was played in August 2006. This first series had only 9 events, but due to the popularity of the FTOPS, the number of events has been increased over the last few years. The prizepools get bigger and bigger for every FTOPS that is held, and the FTOPS XVII will more than likely break records for the biggest prizepools. The FTOPS is more than an annual event, and is typically held 3-4 times every year. I believe that it was originally planned to be held on a yearly basis, but that the players wanted more which led Full Tilt Poker to run it on a more regular basis. The total prizepool for the first FTOPS was just over $2 million, so you can see how much it has grown as we approach FTOPS XVII.
